What’s the advantage of ordering prints from Carolina Rose Photography?

Carolina Rose products are professionally printed on archival quality photographic papers. We feel it is extremely important to pint on archival paper, as your prints are family heirlooms. Therefore, our paper has a Standard Archival Value of 100 years in-home display; 200 years in dark storage. My lab uses cutting-edge equipment, they print on the world's finest photographic paper and offer an array of beautiful surface modifications and mounting options.

What do I wear for my session?

This is a very common question.  You want your portrait to look natural and reflect your personal style.  Family portraits can also be tricky.  You want to all coordinate, without looking like you’re in uniform.  Just email me and I can send you a PDF with ideas and suggestions about what to wear and how to prepare for your portrait session.

How long after the session until I see my pictures and what is the process?

Seven to ten business days after your session you will receive an email with a link and a password to a private gallery of your images.

What are your packages and are they customizable?

We know one size does not fit all, so please feel free to email or call me and we can discuss your image needs.  Packages are customizable, and you can always feel free to order form the a la carte menu and design your own package.  We have many creative ways to display your images, such as gallery wraps, acrylics, metals, wood, and impressionists.  We also offer storyboards and a large selection of frames.  We have some lovely choices of Holiday/Occasion cards, all customizable to suit your specific needs.  We have special products and pricing specifically designed for graduating seniors.

Do you retouch my images?

Images will have standard facial retouch which includes removal of blemishes, dark spots, softening of wrinkles, the lighting of under-eye circles, removal of stray hairs above crown and whitening of teeth. Any retouching more extensive than the latter is available for an additional charge and quotes will be provided upon request. A certain amount of image post-production work will be included when a portrait package is ordered, at the photographer’s artistic discretion.

How do I place my order?

We are flexible here and know that many people like to order via phone and internet.  If this is you, I will discuss your order via phone/email and then I will send an email with all the details and total price and I will provide you with a digital invoice that can be paid by any major credit cards.

When making custom products I will require that you send me your details, i.e. correct spellings of name/address and sentiment or any other special text.  I will always send a digital proof for approval of personalized cards and signature albums and books.  After the digital proof is approved, the order will be placed and all printing is final.  If you are ordering a frame, I have software that will show what your portrait will look like in a particular frame, which can be a very helpful visualization tool.

If you are ordering one of my portrait packages and you require custom framing it may be helpful for you to order in person.  If this is you, then we can schedule a 45-minute order appointment.  Please prepare by having your final image selected from your gallery preview and write down the numbers.  I am happy to provide guidance and make suggestions, but 45-minutes will not be enough time to view each image in the gallery individually and place your order.  We love children, but experience has taught me that children and order appointments don’t mix well.  This is an important decision and investment that you will be making and it will require your full attention.  So, it’s best to leave the children at home with someone, if possible.  That being said, I do have images of all my frames with prices and you may choose your frame by viewing my framing information.  If you know what you want, there is no need for an in-person appointment.  As always, I am more than happy to suggest a frame that would be the perfect complement to your portrait.

When will I receive my order?

I don’t like to let the grass grow under my feet.  Creating Art is a process and I like to stay in that process, in a consistent and timely manner.  Orders differ on the types of products and amount of work that needs to be done on the image, but for the most part, my order turnaround time is 3 weeks or less.  Occasionally a frame can be on backorder and if this is the case, I am notified by the next business day and I will notify you immediately.
